Pastor::
Jodi-Renee Adams
is a collision of post-modern/church/evangelical thought. The unsuspecting worship pastor at one of the first “emerging” churches, JR found herself a student and on a fast track of teaching and writing about the cross-pollination of culture, art, and theology in worship and spiritual formation. You can read her weekly reflections on formation at clayfirecurator.org. She also works as a musician and vocalist in Denver’s burgeoning jazz and fusion scene and also as a teacher in a DPS school and for private students.
Even while she’s still a “reluctant part of the Church,” her dreams and prayers for Ecclesia are usually centered on the slow and beautiful process of real transformation, on creating formal and informal liminal spaces, believing that this is spiritually formative and will translates into acts of justice, compassion, and beauty. She has a particularly soft spot for creatives, cynics, the disenfranchised, and the mystics.
When she’s not at Ecclesia or working with peers or students, she’s eating green chili, learning, trying to be a better partner to her husband Justin or hanging out with their three children: Sara, Anna, and Leo. And Dogma the Boston Terrier.
